First Encounter

A Presence in the Swamp Strange Sounds Louis hears eerie laughter and feels a presence in Little God Swamp. Jud dismisses it as loons, but Louis is unnerved. The Wendigo's Touch Louis senses something huge moving nearby. He does not see it, but he feels its malevolence. The Wendigo is aware of him. Warning Jud tells Louis about the Wendigo, a spirit that corrupts those who trespass. Louis is warned but does not fully understand.

Second Encounter

The Wendigo Appears A Terrifying Vision Louis sees the Wendigo—a huge, horned creature with yellow eyes. It pushes over a tree. Louis is paralyzed with fear. Corruption Louis feels the Wendigo's influence. It has corrupted the burying ground and now corrupts him. He continues despite the horror. Aftermath Louis's hair turns white. His sanity is shattered. The Wendigo has claimed him as part of its domain.
